Girls Day at Mary Poppins

Madi, her best friend and the two moms recently spent the day doing girly things. First, the girls wore matching outfits and brought their American Girl dolls. We went to the AG store where they had their dolls' ears pierced. Next, we had a delicious lunch at a place with white tablecloths and cool Bento boxes. After that we went to see Mary Poppins the musical. It was a wonderful day!

Yet more DI prep...

More layers of Paper mache' and some priming and brown paint for our box that served double purpose as a steamer trunk (to carry in our props) and as the lifeboat when the Titanic sinks during our skit portion.

A costume dress made from curtains purchased at Goodwill.

A week later...after mod podging the entire ship (it's in two pieces so it could break and sink during the skit)...it was time to paint it.

It's done!

Madi begins working on the paper mache' Titanic for DI

Madilyn was on a Destination Imagination team for her school. She created a ratehr large paper mache' Titanic as a side trip for her team's solution. Below are pictures from her first day of the project (which took almost a month).

Fifths Disease...

Fifths Disease has run rampant in our house since Christmastime. First Jack had it (along with Impetgio)...thankfully it was a two week break from school. Shortly after he got better I (Missy) came down with it and itched for 20 days straight! Pure misery! Drew got it along with me...followed by Madilyn. Thankfully, it is one of those viruses that one you get it...you never get it again. Good riddance.

Madi's new reading glasses

What a cutie! She has been getting headaches and the eye doctor said she needed a slight prescription for reading, expecially since she reads all the time. So...we got her some.

Yesterday was the first day (of many) of Christmas recital performaces that Madi is doing at area nursing homes with her dance studio. She LOVES her costume and did a great job dancing. Afterwards, she went around to residents and shook hands and said, "Merry Christmas!" I love tha girl so much!! What a sweetie.

September 23rd, Madi turned 8. It was cold and snowy...although in the first pic it looks rainy.

She gave donuts to her class as her birthday treat.

Drew was not a fan of the noise...

Rocket retrieval was successful!

Then, it was time for some AF football!

Party Time!!!!

Sunday we went to church and out to lunch afterwards. Red Robin servers sang to her and gave her this b-day treat.

Then, we surprised her and took her to get her ears pierced.
