Cuddles's visit and Easter

Our weekend began with Family Movie Night. We watched Bolt and ate popcorn. Saturday, Madi and I went to Denver for a girls day with her best friend and her friend's mom. We went to the American Girl store and got Chrissa's (her doll) ears pierced. Then, we had lunch together and took in a musical, Mary Poppins. It was delightful! While we were in Denver, the boys (+Cuddles) went to a movie together and grilled burgers. Later that night we dyed Easter eggs.

Easter morning came very early and began with a full-out hunt for the baskets which the Easter bunny had filled and hidden during the night.

Cuddles's basket was the first one found.

Then, everyone got to inspect their treats and eat one. (followed not too much later by an enormous rush of sugar-fueled energy). We had a wonderful breakfast and read a little from Matthew about the Resurrection of Jesus.

Check out Chrissa's earrings...

We had a nice Easter lunch together.

Then, we had an Easter egg hunt. Right beforehand Drew asks me "What is an egg hunt?" Witha little explaining he caught on and was even able to identify his eggs by the "D" in his name and found most of Madi's for her as well. So much fun!

Cuddles
Jack's kindergarten class mascot, Cuddles, came home for the weekend the Friday before Easter. Jack had been hoping for it for a very long time and proclaimed it, "A Miracle!" He also said that Cuddles must've been hoping for it, too. They shared lunch together, cuddled at bedtime, got warm sitting over the heater vent, went to a movie together, dyed Easter eggs together and Cuddles even got an Easter basket, too!
